Free seminar for Yorkshire SMEs to prepare for introduction of GDPR

Our team of specialists are ready to help your business today

Howarths will deliver a free seminar to help Yorkshire SMEs understand the requirements of the new GDPR (General Data Protection Act) that will come into effect in May 2018.

Howarths will guide businesses through the principles of GDPR – which will replace the Data Protection Act – including data protection, consent, data subject access requests and the consequences of a data breach, at a seminar at our Cleckheaton office on Friday 15 November.

The seminar will be delivered by our very own employment law advisors Sarah Edwards and Andrea Staley.

Andrea said:

“The introduction of GDPR means that businesses, no matter what their size, will have to comply with new regulations regarding the secure collection, storage and use of personal information.

“There will be a much greater onus on businesses being able to prove that they have consent to use data, and much more significant penalties if they are found to be in breach of GDPR.”

She continued:

“Our seminar will explore the main changes that the introduction of GDPR will bring, and help small to medium sized businesses prepare effectively to ensure they are ahead of the game before implementation in May 2018.”

The seminar will take place between 12-2pm on Wednesday 15 November. Places can be reserved by calling Howarths on 01274 864999.
